2.1

Introduction

This chapter contains information for the installation of the Platinum Z16HD+ IBOC
solid state Broadcast Transmitter, and for performing the pre-operational checks.

NOTE:

For multiple cabinet systems, besides single-phase or Dual-cabinet units, see the
FlexStar System manual (Harris part #888-2587-001) for interconnections and
other system-level installation instructions.

2.2

Unpacking

Carefully unpack the transmitter and perform a visual inspection to ensure that no
apparent damage was incurred during shipment. Retain the shipping materials until it
has been determined that the unit is not damaged. The contents of the shipment should
be as indicated on the packing list. If the contents are incomplete or if the unit is
damaged electrically or mechanically, notify the carrier and HARRIS CORPORATION,
Broadcast Systems

2.2.1

Factory Test Data

Locate and retain the FACTORY TEST DATA. During installation and initial turn on
procedures, reference will be made to FACTORY TEST DATA. This data is normally
packed in an envelope and may be inserted in the technical manual, or may be packed
with the Transmitter. This data includes meter readings, measured performance data,
information and data measured with external equipment, frequency determined parts
and adjustments specifically for your Transmitter’s operating frequency.
