Section 5 Maintenance and Alignment

Platinum Z16HD+

5.3

Adding a BoostPro

If a BoostPro amplifier has been added to an HD+ transmitter, the following procedure
may need to be performed for the initial setup.

STEP 1

On the ZHD+ control panel, press the HIGH power button then press

and hold the power LOWER button for 30 seconds which will set the
DAC REF APC value to zero, as well as lower the power to zero.

STEP 2

Still on the ZHD+ control panel, change RF Source type: [HOME,

MORE, CONFIGURATION, A] select desired RF Source (to verify RF
Source 1 or RF Source 2, see section "2.5.4.4.2 TX INTERFACE" on
page 2-9). Then press corresponding button to toggle through the
choices to select BSTAMP.

STEP 3

Set the Flexstar HDx-FM Exciter Aux Power Level to 0% by accessing

page 3 of the Output Setup screen.

STEP 4

Press the INFO button on BoostPro.

STEP 5

Select CONTROL SUBMENU then press ENTER

STEP 6

Select CONIFG UNLOCK. Press the UP arrow button to change to

YES. Press ENTER.

STEP 7

Select SETUP SUBMENU then press ENTER

STEP 8

Navigate to OPER MODE. Change to BST AMP if not selected.

STEP 9

Navigate to TX TYPE. Change to your transmitter type (Z12/16 HD or

Z4/6/8 HD).

STEP 10

Navigate to DEVICE ID. This sets the CAN buss ID which should be 1

unless it’s the second unit of a dual BoostPro system - then it would be
