hardware and software Testing of the controller. A good working knowledge of the
diagnostic system is crucial to proper transmitter maintenance and operation.
Familiarization with the display and its operation should be quick and easy. Simply
press the HOME key and follow the menus. A drawing labeled “Diagnostics Display
Menu Tree” is included in the schematic package. This drawing shows all of the menus
and screens available in the Diagnostic display system. Note that the drawings are
divided into layers from left to right, with Layer 1 considered the HOME layer at the
left and successive layers to the right.
The diagnostic system consists of the LCD Diagnostic display and 6 function keys,
HOME, BACK and the four selection keys on the right side of the LCD screen.
NOTE:
For all discussions pertaining to the Diagnostic system, the four function keys to
the right side of the Diagnostic LCD display will be called A, B, C and D from
top to bottom as in Figure 3-2. This figure also shows the default screen which
will show up when the controller is first turned on.

HOME
HOME takes you to the home layer or root menu. This menu should look like the one in
Figure 3-3, which is the first of two screens in this layer. The second screen in the
HOME layer is accessed by pressing the “A” function key to the right of the display
which is labeled “MORE ” on the display. The screen should now look like Figure 3-4.
