Section 2 Installation & Initial Turn-On

2.5.3.2

DIGIT CD FM Exciter

If the DIGIT CD exciter(s) were removed for shipping, there are three cables which will
need to be hooked up (not counting the audio inputs) for each. See DIGIT technical
manual and Exciter rack wiring diagrams for complete details.

a.

A ribbon cable which will hook to the remote control connector on the back of
the exciter. This is J2 on the DIGIT.

b.

A coaxial cable with a male BNC connector which connects to the exciter RF
output. This is J1 on the DIGIT.

c.

AC Power Cable. Once the site voltage has been checked, verify that the
exciter(s) are set for the proper input AC voltage. For verification, the selected
voltage should be visible next to the AC power cord connection on the rear of the
exciter. For information on setting the exciter voltage, refer to the exciter techni-
cal manual.

2.5.4

BoostPro Mechanical Installation

If shipped separately or added to the system at a later date, the following section
discusses the steps necessary to install this unit. Refer to "5.3 Adding a BoostPro" on
page 5-5 for setup information.

2.5.4.1

New Installation - Shipped Separately

STEP 1

Carefully slide the unit in to the appropriate slot

STEP 2

Refer to "2.5.4.4 BoostPro Connections" on page 2-7

2.5.4.2

Installed as Replacement

When replacing an existing exciter or IP1D/IP2D in a Platinum Z transmitter, refer to
the following steps.

STEP 1

Turn off all power switches and circuit breakers

STEP 2

Disconnect primary AC power

STEP 3

Verify no UPS is applying an AC source to any involved unit

STEP 4

Identify and notate all current cable connections

STEP 5

Disconnect all I/O cables and AC connectors
