where unauthorised persons do not have access to it.

If you reset the code to "0000", all the levels are freely accessible for editing. The code
can only be reset by a "specialist".

Description of the menu editor types
Hardware locking locks the instrument from on-site
configuration operations. To lock it, press "CAL" and "DIAG"
simultaneously.
At the code prompt, the code appears as "9999". Only the
settings in the "PARAM" menu can be seen.
Press the "MEAS" and "PARAM" keys simultaneously to unlock
the hardware.
