Additional information provided by certain sensor events may also appear in the Event Entry
Details window.
To display the BMC system log and log events:
1. In a Units View window (see Accessing Units View windows on page 88), click on the name of
a supported IPMI target device. The Unit Overview window will open.
2. Click IPMI in the side navigation bar, and then click SEL . The System Event Log window
will open.
3. Click on the name of a sensor event name. The Event Entry Details window will open.
4. Click Close when you are finished to return to the System Event Log window.
5. If you have Configure Unit Settings access rights, you may click Clear Log to clear all entries
from the system event log. See About Access Rights on page 120 and Displaying the Event Log
on page 297.
6. Click Close when you are finished to return to the Target Devices, Units in Site, Units in
Custom Field, Topology or Recently Accessed Units window.
Alert forwarding
This feature requires DSI5100 appliance firmware version 3.2.0.0 or higher. To display version
information, see
Managed Appliance Network, Authentication Server and Version Settings on
page 122.
To enable alert forwarding to the DSView 3 software audit log:
NOTE: This feature requires DSI5100 appliance firmware version 3.2.0.0 or higher.
1. In a Units View window (see Accessing Units View windows on page 88), click on the name of
a DSI5100 appliance.
2. Click Appliance Settings in the side navigation bar, and then click Alert Destination . The Alert
Destination window will open.
3. To enable alert forwarding:
a. In the IP address field, enter the address of the DSView 3 software server where the
appliance will forward events.
b. In the Port field, enter the port (1-65535) where the DSView 3 software server will listen.
4. Click Save and then click Close .
You may change the IP address and port at any time; however, to return the fields to empty, the
DSI5100 appliance must be reset to its factory defaults.
