Services Folder
This folder contains several subfolders.
The
Printing subfolder
contains a hot link labeled
Print Mode
, and another sub-folder labeled
Language
Emulations
.
Click on the
Print Mode
hot link to set the Page Description Language emulation used by the Printer's
Input Ports displayed on the screen. Depending upon the Ports enabled at the Device, the list of Ports will
include: Parallel, AppleTalk (with PostScript), SMB, LPD, IPP and Port 9100. Typical Page Description
selections for each Port include: Auto (auto select), PostScript, HP-GL/2, PCL, and TIFF/JPEG. To have
the Device register changes made to any settings, click the rectangular Apply button.
Click on the
Language Emulations
folder, then on a Page Description language to access the Printer's
default preferences for processing that Page Description Language. To have the Device register changes
made to any settings, click the Apply button.
The
E-mail subfolder
contains a
Default
link to set up default E-mail parameters and a
Public Address
Book
link. For complete information on REQUIRED E-mail settings, refer to the
Scan to E-mail topic in
the Options section of this guide
. The
Public Address Book
hot link enables you to import an address
book in Comma Separated Value (CSV) format. This address book can be used by such system options
as E-mail, Fax, and iFAX. Click the
Browse…
button to locate your CSV formatted file, then click
Import
Now
.
The
Fax subfolder
is used to set the machine to support embedded fax (Scan to Fax) or Server Fax (Scan
to Fax Server). The
Defaults
hot link is used to enable or disable the printing of a Transfer Report in
support of Server Fax operations. Refer to the
Server Fax topic
of this guide for full information.
The
Network Scanning subfolder
is used to set up
Network Scanning using Templates
, as stated in
this guide in the topic of the same name.
The
Machine Software Subfolder
currently contains two hot links: Upgrades and Manual Upgrade.
The
Upgrades
hot link provides the Enabling control for software upgrades.
The
Manual Upgrade
hot link provides the ability to manually perform software upgrades, after
enabling through the Upgrades link.
The
Xerox Services subfolder
contains a link to setting up the
Xerox Communication Server
. This is
the Xerox server that supports automatic billing and supplies reporting, set up as stated in the
Smart
eSolutions (Meter Assistant and Supplies Assistant) topic
in this guide.
The
Custom Services subfolder
contains the
Validation Options
and
Custom Services
links. The
Validation Options
link is meant to work with a validation server, which is used in an enterprise network to
certify the authenticity of Digital Certificates used for file encryption. Note that Digital Certificates typically
work with SSL/TLS encryption, which is set up from the Machine Digital Certificate Management link in the
Security folder. The host name and path settings for a validation server are set up through the
Validation
Server
hot link in the Network Scanning subfolder. For a definition of the Custom Services link, consult the
on-line help.
Accounting folder
The file folder, labeled
Accounting
, contains the
Accounting Configuration
hot link allowing you to
secure machine services through Accounting methods. This was formerly the standalone Auditron
Administration hot link, in the Properties tab directory tree.
