stack dryers are equipped with
two control boards, one per dryer. Money ac-
ceptors for the upper and lower dryer can be
different types (upper coin, lower drop, lower
coin, upper card, etc.)
NOTE: When installing SMART Card readers
or coindrops, it is very important to thread the
harness from the proper board to the collar
money acceptor opening for the desired dryer
(upper or lower).
The upper dryer (right money acceptor open-
ing) is controlled by the board farthest back in
the collar assembly. The front board controls
the lower dryer (left collar opening).
WARNING
Electrical Shock Hazard
Disconnect power before servicing.
Replace all parts and panels before
operating.
Failure to do so can result in death or
electrical shock.
1. Unplug or disconnect electrical power.
2. Unlock the cam lock on the right side of the
console.
NOTE: Make sure that all wiring harness con-
nections are secure prior to closing the console
after servicing or installing money acceptors.
4. Perform steps 2 through 4 on page 2-33.
5. Thread the card reader harness in through
the upper metercase opening, then to the
console following the routing of the factory
coinslide harness.
6. Install the card reader into the collar using
the retaining bolt supplied with the card
reader kit.
7. Reinstall the console, ensure all harness
connections are attached fully to the appro-
priate connectors.
8. Reconnect the electrical power.
9. Follow the appropriate procedure for either
manual or Palm

setup.
NOTE: ADVANTECH

machines are shipped
from the factory with the coinslide function
enabled. After installing a card reader into the
machine, the card reader (CArd) must be en-
abled prior to doing a machine setup (see
OWNER SETTINGS in Section 6 for the pro-
cedure).
3. To remove the console, pull the right end
out, and slide it away from the collar.
