COLLECTING FAULT INFORMATION
Collecting Event Log
This section describes on how to collect the log of various events that occurred on the workstation.
IMPORTANT:
If STOP error, system error, or stall occurred, follow
the procedure below after restarting the system.
Collect the logs of various events that happened in the workstation.
1.
Select [Start]
→
[Control Panel].
The [Control Panel] window appears.
2.
Select [Performance and Maintenance]
→
[Management Tool]
→
[Event Viewer].
With classic display, click [Management Tool] directly in the [Control Panel] window.
3.
Select the type of logs to be collected.
[Application Log] contains events related to applications that were active. [Security Log]
contains events related to security. [System Log] contains events that occurred in system
components under Windows XP.
4.
Click [Operation]
→
[List Export].
5.
Enter the name of the archive file in the [File Name] box that you are going to save.
6.
Select the type of the target log file from the [File Type] list box, and click [OK].
