System Diagnostics
The System Diagnostics runs several tests on the server.
Use the System Diagnostics program in the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER provided with
the server to diagnose the server.
Test Items
The following items are tested in system diagnostics.
■
Memory
■
CPU cache memory
■
Hard disk used as a system
Caution
When executing the System Diagnostics, make sure to remove
the LAN cable. Executing the System Diagnostics with the LAN
cable connected, the network may be influenced.
Note:
On checking the hard disk, no data is written into the
disk.
Starting and Ending the System Diagnostics
Procedures to start the diagnostics program is as follows:
1.
Shutdown the OS, and turn off the server. Then, unplug the power cord.
2.
Disconnect all the LAN cables from the server.
3.
Plug the power cord and turn on the server.
4.
Use the NEC EXPRESSBUILDER CD-ROM to reboot the server.

for details.
The main menu appears when starting the server using the NEC
EXPRESSBUILDER.
5.
Select [Tools].
6.
Select [System Diagnostics].
The System Diagnostics starts and completes in approximately three minutes.
