The result shows the disconnection of the High-speed DC Circuit Breaker after receiving a trip from the Protective
Relay. The tripping of the Protective Relay can be measured directly if it provides a voltage-free ‘NO’ (Normally Open)
trip output contact. This contact can be connected to the ‘trip’ terminals of the ‘PROTECTION TEST’ hardware.
Trip detections will typically also display on the Protective Relay itself.
9.10.3.3 Reaction Time Tests.
The reaction time test measures the reaction time of the High-speed DC Circuit Breaker when receiving a manual
closing or opening command.
Preparations:
To measure the closing and opening commands, a voltage-free ‘NO’ (Normally Open) contact representing the
command should be connected to the ‘Trip’ input (3) of the ‘PROTECTION TEST’ interface.
