14. Maintenance
The various system modules require little to no maintenance under normal circumstances, provided the system is
handled, transported and stored appropriately.
Check-ups may prove useful if the system is used in harsh conditions or if the system has been in storage for an
extended period.
14.1 Junction Connectors
The Power Junction Connectors should be kept clean.
Do not use harsh chemicals for cleaning. Instead, use a damp cloth, and allow the system to dry completely before
use. Cleaning off dust can be done using compressed air.
The device must be protected adequately when stored.
14.2 Tyres (BALTO Modular only)
NOTE :
The tyre pressure should be checked regularly.
Used tyre pressure: 3 bar (43.5 psi)
14.3 Components
14.3.1 Trained personnel only
DANGER :
DANGER :
Maintenance, and specifically the replacement of components, should only be
performed by trained and qualified personnel.
14.3.2 Battery Chargers.
To ensure reliable operation, regularly check that the cooling fans and vents are free of dust or particle build-up. Dust
removal can be done using compressed air.
14.3.3 Ultracapacitors.
DANGER :
DANGER :
During maintenance, never attempt to discharge the ultracapacitors.
The ultracapacitors must remain charged to the battery voltage.
Appropriate care should be taken when working around the charged ultracapacitors.
The ultracapacitor terminal connections may need tightening.
Used tightening torque: 20 N·m (14.8 lbf·ft)
