Diagnosing installation problems
When you choose
Apply Configuration
, the Management Console tries to
update the selected machines. You can monitor the Management Console’s
progress in a number of ways:
Choose one of the following methods to monitor the progress of the
installation:
• Watch the icon to the left of the machine name in the anti-virus domain
view.
• Position the mouse pointer over a machine. This provides ToolTip help to
explain the event, which will be one of the following:

An update is in progress.
–
The machine needs to be rebooted to complete the update.
–
An error has occurred.
–
All updates have completed successfully.
–
An update is pending via the batch-upgrade method.
• Click a machine, and click the Installation Log tab at the bottom of the right
pane. If you do this while an update is in progress, the Log tells you the
current state of progress. If you view the
Log after an update has finished,
you see the full history for that update.
The update succeeded.
The update did not complete successfully.
The update is occurring via batch update.
The machine needs to be rebooted.
