Configuring Complex Domains
If you have a large network with many machines in the anti-virus
domain, some member machines may be powered down. The
Apply
Configuration
button polls all machines until they are powered on and
then configures and installs to them.
Moving machines between anti-virus domains
After you have created an anti-virus domain, you can change the way it is
organized. For example, you may decide to split the anti-virus domain by site
or by client type. Moving machines from one anti-virus domain to another lets
you modify the anti-virus domain easily.
Follow these steps to move a machine to another anti-virus domain:
1. Select a machine in one anti-virus domain, and drag it to the new
anti-virus domain.
2. Right-click the anti-virus domain, and choose
Apply Configuration
.
If the only components are the on-demand scanner and on-access
scanners and they are all in bold type, only the anti-virus domain
information is updated.
A member machine may be moved from one Member group to another in the
same way.
Follow these steps to move a Windows 3.1 machine to another anti-virus
domain:
After you have installed the Management Agent onto a Windows 3.1 machine
and it has received a computer name from the Name Provider, you must add
it to the domain specified in its NAMEPR16.INI
file.
However, after the machine is added to the specified domain, you can move
the machine to a different domain by dragging the machine to the new domain
as with all other anti-virus domain members.
