7. Using the heel of the hand, press down on
the plunger and spring seat until a click is
heard. The click indicates that the plunger
has been pushed down, and the retaining
clip has seated to hold the plunger, spring
and spring seat in place.

8. Install new O-rings and lubricate with clean
engine oil.
9. Reinstall the unit pump into the engine using
the procedures as outlined under Engine
Reassembly in the REPAIR
INSTRUCTIONS section.
Fuel Injector Nozzle Cleaning

Refer to Figure 231.
When servicing the nozzle holder assemblies,
cleaning of the nozzle tips may be necessary.
Special care must be taken when cleaning the
nozzle tips to avoid damaging the nozzle spray
holes.
