Remote Control via Ember+
Ember+ is a non-proprietary TCP/IP control protocol which allows devices to remotely control parameters within
crystal, or crystal to control parameters within an external device. It is supported by a wide range of products
and manufacturers. More details about the Ember+ protocol can be found at
https://github.com/Lawo/ember-
Preparation & Configuration
All devices should be connected to the Lawo control network in the usual manner. You will need to know the
hostname or TCP/IP Address and Port Number of each Ember+ device on the network.
An Ember+ provider "publishes" parameters so that they may be controlled, or responded to, by an external
consuming device. Parameters which can be published from crystal include source and summing bus
parameters, GPIO signals, matrix crosspoints, etc.
crystal supports up to 5 Ember+ providers and 15 Ember+ consumers. This allows you to change what is
published to each external device, and how parameters are consumed.
For a guide to all of the crystal parameter paths and values, please see the
Note that VisTool MK2 is an Ember+ consumer which can control, or respond to, parameters published by
crystal. For more information on VisTool's Ember+ capabilities, please refer to the "VisTool MK2 User Guide".
