22. The Firmware Update Tool
22.6 Main Menus
22.6.1 Unit
Click on Unit to access the following drop-down menus:
·
New - adds a new unit to the SoP Explorer configuration.
·
Delete - select a unit name from the systems list and then select Unit -> Delete to delete the unit from
the Sop Explorer configuration.
·
Properties - select a unit name from the systems list and then select this option to view or edit the
system properties .
·
Exit - click to close the SoP Explorer program.
22.6.2 Run
Click on Run to access the following drop-down menus:

Software Update – accesses the three methods of updating software.
·
Factory Reset – select this option to reset the configuration and reload the complete software set to the
system.
·
Transfer Config – accesses the Unit to File… and File to Unit… transfer options. These can be used
to make a binary copy of the configuration loaded on the system unit for Lawo service personnel as
requested. Remember to
perform a coldstart after transferring a File to unit . You will need to action
the cold start manually, see System Cold Start .
·
Erase Config – select this option to transfer an empty configuration to the system.
·
Configuration… – select a unit name from the systems list. Then click to start the ON-AIR Designer and
automatically load the configuration file for the system (the file path is as defined in the Properties
window ).
·
Web… – select a unit name from the systems list and click to automatically open the Web UI .
·
Telnet… – select a unit name from the systems list and click to open a Telnet session .
·
Save Logs as – this function saves the SoP Explorer logs area into a log file. This could then be sent to
a Lawo representative for servicing purposes.
·
Cancel – cancels all operations, for example to cancel a software update.
22.6.3 View
By changing the options in the View menu, you choose to view or not view the following:
·
Toolbar – the icon toolbar .
·
Statusbar – the Status Bar.
·
Logs Area – the Logs area.
·
Fixed Modules – fixed software modules for the selected system component.
·
Refresh – click to refresh the status of all units, for example after performing an update.
22.6.4 Help
Click on Help followed by Info… to view information about the version of SoP Explorer. Then click on OK to
clear this pop-up.
