VisTool Snapshots
VisTool snapshots are stored on the VisTool runtime PC.
They are stored in the "Visconfigurations.mdb" file defined in VisTool Editor's "Global Settings" (via the
Snapshots field). Usually the default file path is used so that data can be stored independently on each VisTool
PC. Alternatively, if you wish to share snapshots between VisTools, then you can create a shared file location.
The setup for this is described in the VisTool MK2 User Guide.
VisTool snapshots store the same settings as the five internal memories on Lawo's radio on-air consoles. When
you save, you can choose to save either a
Full
snapshot (to save settings globally across the console), or
Source
snapshot (to save only the settings for the source in access).
Usually, a set of dedicated buttons are configured to operate the snapshot functions. In the VisTool standard
template, these appear on the MAIN dock. The "Current Snapshot" field shows the name of the last snapshot
loaded.

Configuring Operator Access to Snapshot Functions
Each snapshot function can be accessed in one of two ways: a button on a VisTool page or an MF Key (or
other control signal) from the remote system.
For option one, add a Box element to the VisTool project, and link this to one of the "Predefined User Text ->
Snapshot" options.
For option two, add a "Logic -> VispageSwitch" element to the ON-AIR Designer project, and define one of the
functions. It is important that the
Station ID
(defined for the "
" element)
matches the one entered in VisTool Sessions. If not, the triggers from the remote system will not work.
The "Current Snapshot" field is also a Box element. This is linked to the DisplaySnaphotName function.
Protecting Snapshots (via User Rights)
Optionally, you can set up
to create different levels of snapshot access for administrators
and "standard" users. User Rights are not supported by the standard template but can be enabled by creating a
user LOGIN button.
