14. Control Surface Configuration
Sum Bus Assignments
Bus assignments can also be programed onto fader strip MF Keys. This allows an operator to directly assign a
source to a bus from its fader strip. The four self-labeling MF Keys (MF Key 1, 1b, 2 and 2b) are ideal for this
function:
1.
Assign the summing buses to the 20 "Aux" bus positions as described
.
2.
Select the source from the 'Tree Definition' and select the
Keys
tab.
3.
Assign the
Aux Off
,
Aux Pre
and
Aux Post
control signals to the MF Key lamp states (from the
Keys
menu tab). You should end up with three states for the MF Key:
4.
Select a color for each state from the
Color
drop-down menus, and enter a label in the
MF 1 Label
field – e.g.
SUM1
.
Once you transfer this configuration and assign this source to a fader strip, the MF Key 1 should be labeled
SUM1
, and cycle through 3 states:
·
Green = bus assign to SUM 1 off.
·
Red = bus assign to SUM 1 pre-fader.
·
Yellow = bus assign to SUM 1 post-fader.
5.
Repeat for other sources in the configuration as required.
