The Channel/Program (CH/PROG) Page
This is the first page you see when you enter the Setup Editor. Here, you can select programs,
MIDI channels, and MIDI Bank numbers for each of the setup’s 16 zones. You can also solo or
mute each zone, and assign zones to be controlled by the PC3’s Arpeggiator.
Program
This selects an internal program to play on each zone. As you change the value of Program,
notice that MIDI Program and MIDI Bank match the local program and bank numbers
(programs 1–127 fall into MIDI Bank 0, 128–255 fall into MIDI Bank 1, and so on—both MIDI
Banks and PC3 banks can hold 128 programs). If you want to transmit different program and
bank numbers over MIDI, highlight either MIDI Program or MIDI Bank and select a new value.
Note that changing the Program parameter again will reset both the MIDI Program and MIDI
Bank parameters to match the local program and bank numbers.
NOTE:
MIDI Banks and PC3 banks are not the same, nor is there a direct one-to-one correspondence
between the two. As mentioned previously, programs 1–127 fall into MIDI Bank 0, programs 128–255
fall into MIDI Bank 1, and so on; program IDs 1–128 fall into PC3 bank
Base 1
, programs 128–255 fall
into
Base2
, and so on (recall that the PC3 bank names are displayed in left-to-right order above their
corresponding mute buttons in Program mode). For example, program
128 Drums ‘n Bells
is MIDI Bank
1
Program
0
, and is in PC3 bank
Base 1
; and program
127 Magic Celeste
is MIDI Bank
0
Program
127
,
but is also in PC3 bank
Base 1
.
