11. Maintenance
This chapter explains when and how maintenance should be carried out, which materials should be used for
this purpose and which special tools are needed.
11.1. Preparation Maintenance
Before carrying out maintenance on the Autosampler III, the following safety
instructions and warnings must be considered.
•
The Autosampler III must be switched off. A warning sign must
be hung on the control unit and the installation must be protected
against switching on, for example, by pressing the emergency stop,
turning off the main switch, unplugging, or placing a LOTO sign on
the machine.
•
The installation must be pressure free locally before removing
the covers from the Autosampler III in order to carry out work
on the system.
•
Before maintenance is carried out on an electrical installation, it must
be made voltage-free. To do this, the installation must be switched
off, the installation secured, the voltage freedom determined (use a
voltage meter for this purpose), only protective tools are to be used
and adjacent powered parts should be sufficiently shielded.
•
Before maintenance is carried out on a pneumatic or hydraulic
installation, the installation must be in a pressure-free state. The installation must also be protected
against switching on.
•
If it is impossible to take the safety devices out of service during maintenance work, only authorized
personnel can do so.
•
Electrical parts should not be cleaned with water or other liquids.
•
Aggressive cleaning agents should be handled with care. The guidelines of the suppliers of these
agents must be followed. Wear the appropriate personal protective equipment such as protective
clothing, goggles and gloves.
•
Handles and the floor around the Autosampler III should be free of dust and liquids to prevent slipping.
•
Broken or damaged parts must be replaced as soon as possible, consult Hygiena.
