6.4. Starting Autosampler III initialization
Before initializing the Autosampler III, check the following parts:
Step 1: Check if no errors are reported.
The operator may access the alarm manager (Chapter 10.7) to see if any errors or warning may have occurred
during the previous steps. If any errors or warnings have occurred, please refer to the error and warnings
chapter in the user manual and proceed accordingly.
Step 2: Start Autosampler III initialization.
As in the previous "prepare for initialization" procedure, make sure that the operator is logged into the
Autosampler III and has the landing page of the Xperimate control interface open. On the Xperimate control
interface, the user must run the "02-InitSystem" method.
•
Select the "02-InitSystem" method from the dropdown list of methods.
•
Press the "Start" button.
All parts of the Autosampler III will start to initialize and move to their home positions. This means that the
conveyor will move slightly forward, the pipetting channels will move up and to the back of the Autosampler III,
the shaker will initialize and shake for a short duration. Then the pumps will be initialized against the input, so
liquid in the syringe will be pumped back.
The status light will blink blue during initialization.
Autosampler III initialization method
Step 3: Wait for initialization to finish.
After a successful initialization of the motors, the status light will stop blinking, indicating the Autosampler
III completed initialization. In case the initialization was not successful, and no errors have occurred while
performing the initialization procedure, the operator may repeat Step 1 and Step 2. If after a retry the
Autosampler III still does not initialize please perform all steps from Chapter 6.3. if after repeating all steps still
does not lead to a successful initialization, contact your (internal) contact person.
Note: Please make sure that ATX or buffer is not connected on system startup
when the syringe is still filled with microwash as this means those will be
contaminated with microwash when connected. During standard runs, the
syringe will not be filled with microwash, so this will not be an issue.
