6.13.1.2. Reagent pumps
The Autosampler III contains two reagent dispensing pumps. These pumps are
connected to the reagent distribution and dispense manifold and respectively
to the ATX and buffer tubes. From left to right the pumps are defined as pump 1
(ATX) and pump 2 (buffer), which corresponds to the dispensing manifolds
(from left to right): manifold 1 (ATX) manifold 2 (buffer).
It is important to never let the syringes run dry. When the syringes are used dry,
more friction is imposed which will degrade the plunger. When the syringes
are used dry, more friction is imposed which will degrade the plunger and
decreases its life expectancy.
6.13.1.3. Microwash pump
The Autosampler III contains one diaphragm pump for pumping microwash
from the 4-liter microwash container to the needle wash station.
6.13.2. Chemical containers
To run the Autosampler III in conjunction with the Innovate System,
several fluids must be connected to the Autosampler III. The paragraphs
below explain, in detail, what needs connected and how to do so.
6.13.2.1. Buffer
The chemical (buffer) is placed into the Autosampler III by means of a
50 ml tube. The 50 ml tube has a blue cap that has a hole through which
the tubing can be fed. The 50 ml tube is placed in the cooling block.
