6.14. End of day procedure
This section explains how to take the Autosampler III out of production at the end of a production day.
This procedure needs to be performed by the operator after 8 hours of usage or at the end of the day. This
process may take up to 30 minutes to perform. The goal of this procedure, and specifically, flushing the fluid
lines (tubing), is to prevent microbiological build up, crystals or precipitation of reagent within the fluid lines.
All these effects may interfere with test results as well as the continued performance of the Autosampler III.
•
Clear the Autosampler III from samples, plates and fluid spills. To do this perform the steps described
in the Checklist prior to starting Autosampler III initialization (Chapter 6.3).
•
Replace the buffer and ATX tubes with microwash. Replacing liquids is described in (Chapter 6.12).
•
Flush the Autosampler III with microwash (for anticipated longer shutdown demineralized water is
preferred to minimalize chemical effects on the pumps)
–
Select "13-WashPipettingChannels" in the method selection overview.
–
Press "Start".
•
Open the doors (Chapter 6.8)
•
Clean all surfaces as described in (Chapter 9), specifically:
–
The surface underneath the reagent dispensers and the dispense position of the plate.
–
The needles used for pipetting.
–
The dispense needles on the reagent dispense manifold.
–
The conveyor belt.
–
The needle wash station.
•
Close the Autosampler III by locking the doors.
•
Close the Xperimate application on the HMI (Chapter 10)
•
Optionally: turn off the Autosampler III
–
Turn off the PC.
–
Turn off the main switch.
–
Turn off the compressor.
