CYLINDER HEAD/VALVES
Install the cylinder head cover [1] onto the cylinder
head.
Install the cylinder head cover bolts [2] with the
mounting rubbers [3].
Tighten the cylinder head cover bolts to the specified
torque.
Install the removed parts in the reverse order of
removal.
CAMSHAFT
REMOVAL
Remove the cylinder head cover (page 8-4).
Remove the timing hole cap [1] and crankshaft hole cap
[2].
Remove the O-rings [3] from the caps.
Rotate the crankshaft counterclockwise and align the
“T” mark [1] on the flywheel with the index notch [2] on
the left crankcase cover.
Make sure the piston is at TDC (Top Dead Center) on
the compression stroke.
This position can be confirmed by checking for slack in
the rocker arms.
If there is no slack, rotate the crankshaft
counterclockwise one full turn and align the "T" mark
with the index notch again.
Remove the sealing plug and O-ring from the cam chain
tensioner lifter.
Turn the cam chain tensioner lifter shaft clockwise fully
and secure it using the special tool.
Install the mounting
rubbers onto the
cylinder head cover
with their "UP"
marks [4] facing up.
TORQUE: 10 N·m (1.0 kgf·m, 7 lbf·ft)
