Another board is inside the remote control (REMOTE CONTROL BOARD).
All of those boards communicate by one CAN BUS system.
To accede to the ECM1 and modem it’s necessary to open their protection
bonnet.
9.2
SOFTWARE
The machine main software is installed on the master board (ECM1), load cell
board (ECM3) is a slave board controlled by the master board.
Remote control is also controlled by the master board, its software does not
contain any machine function except for the remote control components
(display, joystick, buttons), its icons depends on the main machine software.
When on a machine is connected a new remote control that was previously
installed on a machine with a different software release on the display will
appear ”DOWLOAD”, DOWLOAD is the process that upd
ate the display icons to
the main machine software and could take some minutes, the downloading
process in progress is indicated on the display by an increasing number.
The modem has got its own software, modem could contain the machine main
software (for instance if it was sent by R.A.H.M., the remote assistance
available via internet) and it could update the master board with it in case of
need, more details about it are described in the appendix 6.
The machine main software is composed by two separated parts, one is
belonging to the safety and the other one is belonging the settings not involving
the safety (ramps, currents etc.)
9.3
CAN-BUS SYSTEM
CAN BUS has the following meaning
CAN = Controller Area Network
BUS are the channels for peripherals
CAN BUS communication protocol is standardized by ISO, the main concept of
this protocol is that the signals exchanged between the electrical system
components is split into packets (frames) before being sent and
communications are managed using only two wires (High and Low) with
obvious advantages in terms of space and reduced cables damages risk.
One wire is driven with lower voltage and it is so called L (Low) while the other
is driven with higher voltage and it is so called H (High), the two wires float
around 2,3÷2,6 Volt, an eventual electrical noise can affect one wire but not
both, so communication could not be corrupted.
