TMC
short for Traffic Message Channel. Digital radio data service which is broadcast in RDS and used
to the transfer of interruptions of traffic flow. The signal will transfer continuously, therefore
the GPSeye IN1 can adapt the dynamic target guidance immediately according to the events.
The broadcast of TMC occurs in many European countries via radio, however, the quality of
the announcements is very different. The GPSeye IN1 uses the TMC services that can be freely
received.
Triangulation
The signal times of at least four satellites will be measured. The intersection of four
spherical surfaces makes maximally a valid point and thus the location of the receiver. The
distance to the satellites is calculated due to the terms of the emitted signals (Position data and
time signal). Since the GPSeye IN1 is not equipped with a high-precise nuclear clock, it derives
the precise time from the time signals of the satellites that compare it with the time signal of a
fourth satellite and calculates longitude and latitude as well as the height.
