16. GPS Explorer Local Edition
The GPSoverIP Customer-Service then generates a cost-free access for this com-
pany/person and sends the access data back to you.
The third party has to install the GPS Explorer or use the GPS Explorer Web Edition.
This option is interesting for example for sub-contractors, who want to give access to
their HGV’s to the contractor permanently.
16.15.2. Short Term
If you, however, want one of your customers give access to one of your vehicles for a
short term, e.g. for tracking a delivery, you have to use the second option. For this, your
customer will use our web interface with Google Maps (refer to section siehe Abschnitt
„ 17.5.1 Release of Vehicles to Third Parties “ on p. 189 ).
You may need a license key that presently can be obtained free of charge. Send an email
to support@gpsoverip.de with a request for the respective license key.
Generally your license key is free of charge; however, with new or changed functions of
the GPS Explorer license keys may not be neccessary any longer.
To open the context menu of the GPS Explorer in the task bar via the right mouse button.
Select the menu item
Change Configuration

Change to the tab
Licenses
, enter the license key and then click on the button
Apply
.
16.15.3. Activate Release
The release will be activated by clicking the right mouse button on a vehicle and selecting
the menu item
Select release
in the context menu.
