19.5. Which advantages does DATAoverIP offer?
DATAoverIP is an advancement based on the described technology of GPSoverIP.
It is a spooler service, which processes its information via an automatic wait loop. The
High Level Driver of the program creates 2 directories (IN/OUT), which are available
to the developers for the transfer of their own applications. For request on the client
side, same as with GPSoverIP, a DATAoverIP request for implementation into the own
application is used.
The main advantage of DATAoverIP can not only be seen on your computer (to get
various information and data from your computer and send them to theGPSeye IN1), but
is especially that you can program individual applications directly on the GPSeye IN1.
19.5.1. The functionality of DATAoverIP
The text of the following pages is intended for experienced programmers.
General description of the communication
All information that come from Daughter-Board (DB) and have to go to the Application
are written into the IN folder on the SDRAM. All information that come from the
Application aimed to the DB are written into the OUT folder in SDRAM.
HLD is responsible:
• to read all files in the OUT folder and transmit them via the serial connection to
the DB and deletion after successful process
• to receive all information as coming from the serial connection of the DB and write
files into the IN folder
