Information: Connecting the GPSeye IN1 to the Car Radio
Sometimes interferences due to other electronic devices may occur. A reason for may
be the wiring in the car. Filter all these electromagnetic interference would result in
restricted sound quality of the GPSeye IN1. To minimize the influence of other electronic
devices we advice to use a separat wiring between the car’s battery and the GPSeye IN1.
Please note:It may be neccassary to combine different methods (as discribed below) to
achive a maximum effect.
Unfortunately the different methods can not be integrate into the GPSeye IN1, as the
various car manufactures and the many different types of vehicles offer to many different
constellations for wiring and electronics, which can not be solved by an unique solution.
Procedure
• Insulate the chassis earth
We advice to separate the supply voltage for the GPSeye IN1 by a DC/DC-changer
from chassis earth.
• Radiated emissions
We advice to use a double screened, twisted cable. These cables come with a twisted
signal line and chassis earth; this pair of wires is also screened. Additionally the
other two pairs (channel left and channel right) are screened too.
Connect the screen to chassis earth. Do not connect the screen to the GPSeye IN1.
• Grid-bound emissions
To eliminate additional emissions put the power cord through and around a ferrite
core.
Note:
You will find double screened cables and DC/DC-changers in the specialized trade.
