LV (Left Ventricle)
There are two methods to calculate the Left Ventricle in the M mode.
One way is to measure all items at a time and the other is one by one.

To measure all Items at a Time

To measure all Items at a Time
1. Press
the
[
Calc
]
key.
The Cardiac Calculations menu appears in the menu area.
2. Select
[
LV M-Mode
]
and select
[
All
]
item.
Note:
The menu area shows, which measurement should be performed.
(illuminated item; e.g., IVSd)
3. A vertical line appears on the M mode display.
Move the line to the position of Diastole using the trackball and
press the right or left trackball key.
4. The first cursor appears on the screen. Move the cursor to the
position of the anterior septum signal and press the right or left
trackball key
[
Set
]
. The mark is fixed.
5. Move the trackball and a second cursor appears. Move it to the anterior IVSd signal and press the
right or left trackball key. The mark is fixed and the next cursor will appear.
The next item in the menu area is illuminated.
6. Move the cursor to LVDd and press the right or left trackball key.
The mark is fixed and the next cursor will appear.
7. Move the cursor to LVPWd and press the right or left trackball key. The mark is fixed and a new
vertical green line appears. Move the line to the point of Systole and press
[
Set
]
.
8. The first cursor appears on the screen. Move the cursor to the anterior systolic position of the
IVSs signal and press the right or left trackball key
[
Set
]
. The mark is fixed.
