PD Mode
9.2 PD Operation
The PD operation consists of : PD Box Position and PD Box Size (chapter 9.2.1)
PD Gain Control (chapter 9.2.2)
Quality (chapter 9.2.3)
Frequency (chapter 9.2.4)
WMF (chapter 9.2.5)
Velocity Range (PRF) (chapter 9.2.6)
2D + 2D/PD (chapter 9.2.7)
Threshold (chapter 9.2.8)
9.2.1 PD Box Position and PD Box Size
In 2D imaging, the relations between 2D frame rate, line density, and sector width were detailed to
show how these three factors can be used to obtain optimal 2D images. A similar relationship exists in
Power-Doppler imaging. On the PD Submenu the line density selection adjusts the balance between
the 2D line density and the PD line density. The values available are scan head-dependent.
The ability to change the PD Box size and position provides flexibility in Power-Doppler imaging.
The trackball changes the PD Box size and position.
Use the trackball to adjust the PD Box position on the 2D image (Single, Dual, Quad).

PD Box horizontal position
↑↓
PD Box vertical position
It is adjustable within the entire 2D image area.
Touch the upper trackball key to change from PD Box position to PD Box size.
Touch it once more and it returns to the position change.
The upper trackball key switches between PD Box position and PD Box size.

decrease the vertical PD Box size
↓
increase the vertical PD Box size

increase the horizontal PD Box size
