Calculations and Patient Reports

14.7.4.4 LV

Mass

This is used for the measurement of the Left Ventricular volume and mass.
It is correctly measured only during the diastolic phase (LV expanded).

1. Press

the

Calc

]

key.

The Cardiac calculations menu appears in the menu area.

2. Select

[

LV Mass

]

3. Perform the measurement of

[

Epicardial Area

]

[

Endocardial

Area

]

and

[

Epicardial Length

]

prior to the LV mass measurement.

4. When the cursor appears in the image, measure the selected item

using the trackball and the right or left trackball key

Set

5. To obtain the second, orthogonal image, press

[

Freeze

]

Scan the image and press

[

Freeze

]

again.

Note:

When using Dual 2D mode, it is not necessary to unfreeze during measurements.
