Use of parts of non-EPSON specifications, improper mounting, damage, distortion, dirt,
adherence of foreign matter?
*Main parts to check
FRONT COVER SWITCH R, FRONT COVER SWITCH L
MCU PWB
Replace and remount
the concerned part(s).
Go to step 2.

*Engine and controller division check
Can a test print (single sheet / consecutive printing, about 10 sheets each) be performed normally
with the engine alone?
Printer controller check
(If an error still occurs
after replacing, go to
step 3.)
Go to step 3.

*FRONT COVER SWITCH R push-in check
Is the operation for the actuator of the FRONT COVER ASSY is as follows?
„
When the FRONT COVER ASSY is closed, turn on the FRONT COVER SWITCH R.
„
When the FRONT COVER ASSY is opened, turn off the FRONT COVER SWITCH R.
„
With tool:
Go to step 4.
„
Without tool:
Go to step 5.
Replacement of faulty
part(s).

*FRONT COVER SWITCH R check
Is the FRONT COVER SWITCH R functioning properly?
• By using the DIAG tool, check by the Digital Input Test device code “23”.
Replace the MCU PWB. Go to step 5.

*FRONT COVER SWITCH R power check
Is the voltage between P19-2PIN <=> P19-3PIN 5VDC.
Go to step 6. Go to FIP-2.1

*FRONT COVER detection signal check
Is the voltage between P19-2PIN <=> P19-3PIN as follows?
„
When the FRONT COVER ASSY is open, the value is 0VDC .
„
When the FRONT COVER ASSY is closed, the value changes from 0VDC to 5.5VDC .
Replace the MCU PWB. Go to step 7.

*MSI HARNESS ASSY continuity check
Is there a proper continuity between J019 <=> P197?
Replace the FRONT
COVER SWITCH R Replace the MAIN
