5.
Release the ROTARY LATCH ASSY. Turn the DEVELOPER ASSY
clockwise and lock the ROTARY LATCH ASSY in the notch of the
ROTARY FRAME ASSY at the position where the tracking roll of the target
DEVELOPER ASSY is on top.
NOTE: Do not touch the surface (surface around circumference) of the
tracking roll with your fingers while performing the following. If you
accidentally touch the surface the tracking roll with your fingers or oily
substances get on the surface, wipe clean with a clean cloth.
6.
Clean the white tracking roll in front of the target Developer Assy (in front of
the Magnet Roll) with a clean cloth.
NOTE: Mark the position of the tracking roll so you can accurately determine
how much the position changes when you perform the following. If the
tracking roll is already marked, use that mark instead.
7.
Mark the white tracking roll in front of the target Developer Assy (in front of
the Magnet Roll) so you can see how much the position has changed.
8.
Turn the side of the white tracking roll, set at the location of the white tape
in accordance with the following figure.
NOTE: Position changes in the following procedure depend on how the
extent to which the drum flange and tracking roll come in contact with
each other. If the overhang of the drum flange and tracking roll is
large, the position of the tracking roll changes significantly; if the
overhang is small, the position changes less.
Figure 3-132. Confirmation Procedure - 2
NOTE: Turn the ROTARY FRAME ASSY as slowly as possible while
performing the following. Turning the ROTARY FRAME ASSY too
fast will produce discrepancy in the amount of position change, thus
making it impossible to get an accurate reading. Visually inspect to
make sure the black drum flange and tracking roll touch each other
while turning.
NOTE: If you do not raise the lever of the ROTARY LATCH ASSY in the
following, the lever and tracking roll will touch. This will allow the
tracking roll to turn and you will not be able to accurately determine
the amount of position change.
NOTE: The tracking roll is rotated when the black drum flange and tracking
roll touch in the following step of the procedure.
