Use of parts of non-EPSON specifications, improper mounting, damage, distortion,
dirt, adherence of foreign matter?
*Main parts to check
UNIVERSAL CASSETTE, TRAY SIZE ACTUATOR,
SIZE SWITCH ASSY, FEEDER PWB, MCU PWB
Replace and remount the
faulty part(s)
Go to step 2.

*Engine and controller division check
Can a test print (single sheet / consecutive printing, about 10 sheets each) be
performed normally with the engine alone?
Check the Printer Controller
(If an error still occurs after
replacing, go to step 3.)
Go to step 3.

*UNIVERSAL CASSETTE mounting check
Can the UNIVERSAL CASSETTE be installed smoothly?
Go to step 4
Replace the faulty part(s).

*END GUIDE ACTUATOR check
Does the END GUIDE ACTUATOR push in the PAPER SIZE SWITCH when the
Cassette 3 is installed?
• After inserting a sheet of paper from the rear onto the SIZE SWITCH ASSY and
installing the Cassette 3, pull out the paper. If you feel resistance, it means the
switches are pushed.
With the tool:
Go to step 5.
Without the tool:
Go to FIP-2.5.
Replace the faulty part(s).

*Paper size check
• By using the DIAG tool, check by Digital Input Test device code “25” .
Go to step 6.
Go to FIP-2.5.

*FEEDER PWB check
Replace the relevant FEEDER PWB.
Does the problem still occur?
Replace the MCU PWB.
Problem solved.
