V A C U U M ACTUATOR
The vacuum actuator fo r the w ater va lve is attached to
the lo w e r side o f the heater distribu tor and is operated
(through use of a connecting link) by the H E A T door cable
as shown in F igu re 58.
Replacem ent
1. R em ove the spring nut at the link to actuator connec
tion.
2. D isconnect the actuator vacuum hoses.
3. R em ove the actuator to case s c rew s and rem ove the
actuator.
4. T o in stall, r e v e r s e Steps 1-3.
NOTE:
Be sure to rein sta ll the vacuum hoses
to the c o r r e c t ports.
Check system operation
a fte r the actuator has been installed.

BLOWER RESISTOR
Replacem ent
1. Disconnect the b attery ground cable.
2. R em ove the glove box and door assem b lies.
3. Disconnect the r e s is to r w irin g harness.
4. R em ove the two r e s is to r mounting s c rew s and rem ove
the r e s is to r as shown in F igu re 59.
5. T o in stall, r e v e r s e "R e m o v a l" Steps 1-4.
BLOWER A N D /O R THERMOSTATIC SWITCHES
The b low er and th erm ostatic switches are located inside
the duct assem bly as shown in F igu re 60.
The coolant
system need not be opened up to gain a ccess to these
sw itches, H ow ever, the en tire unit must be lo w ered from
its dash mounting.
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Rem ove the glove box and door a ssem b lies.
3. R em ove the four dash to duct attachments and the
bracket to kick pad screw .
4. L o w er the en tire unit and rem ove the duct to case
screw s.
5. R em ove the duct fro m the case being carefu l not to
damage the w irin g harness or re frig e ra n t lines.
6. P u ll the switch knobs o ff the shafts.
7. Rem ove the duct re a r co ver screw s and c a re fu lly
prying at the co v e r clip s, with a sm all s crew d r iv e r ,
rem ove the duct c o ver.
