ON A L L SERIES E X C E P T CE 10-20-30:
• Install clutch assem bly and clutch housing as out­
lined in Section 7.
2. Install engine in veh icle as follow s:
ON A L L SERIES E X C E P T CE 10-20-30:
• Install engine and lo w e r until tran sm ission lin es up
with clutch.
• Push engine rea rw a rd and rotate crankshaft until
tran sm ission shaft and clutch engage.
• Install the engine mount bolts and torque to
specification s.
• Connect tran sm ission to engine.
ON CE 10-20-30 SERIES:
• L o w e r engine and tran sm ission assem bly and push
rea rw a rd until engine mounts line up.
• On ve h ic le s with automatic o r four speed tra n s­
m ission s, install re a r mount cro ssm em b er.
• Install the engine mount bolts and torque to
sp ecification s.
• Install the p ro p e lle r shaft as outlined in Section 4.
ON A L L SERIES:
• R em ove the liftin g d evice and liftin g adapter from
cylin d er head bolt location then torque cylin d er
head bolts to sp ecification s.
• Install ro ck er arm c o v e rs as outlined.
3. Connect tran sm ission linkage (as requ ired ).
4. Install clutch c ro s s -s h a ft o r connect clutch slave
cylin d er (as req u ired ).
5. Install fan and pu lley as outlined in Section 6K.
6. Connect:
• Exhaust pipe at m anifold.
• P o w e r steerin g lin es at pump (as req u ired ).
• Vacuum o r a ir lin es at engine (as requ ired ).
• O il p ressu re gauge line (as requ ired ).
• H eater hoses at engine connection.
• Fuel line at fuel pump.
• Choke cable at carb u retor.
• A c c e le r a to r linkage at m anifold bellcrank.
7. Connect w ir e s at:
• C oil
• O il P re s s u re Switch
• Tem p eratu re Switch
• D elcotron
• S tarter Solenoid
8. C om plete installation as follow s:
ON T E 50 and 60 SERIES:
• Install re a r cab support.
• Connect cab safety lock at re a r cab support.
• Install le ft and righ t island supports.
• Connect throttle cable at ca rb u retor and retaining
brackets.
• Install rad iator surge tank on island support and
connect hoses to surge tank.
• Swing control island rea rw a rd and connect to
support.
• Connect em ergen cy brake cable at em ergency
brake and retaining brackets.
• Connect choke cable at carb u retor and adjust.
• Connect shift linkage at control island.
• Install the rad iator, ra d ia tor support and shroud
as outlined in Section 13.
ON A L L E X C E P T T E 50 and 60 SERIES:
• Install the rad iator and shroud as outlined in
Section 13.
• Install the hood as outlined in Section 11.
9. Install the a ir clean er, connect battery cables, fill
cooling system and crankcase then start engine and
check fo r leaks.
Intake M an ifo ld
Removal
1. Drain radiator and rem ove a ir clean er.
2. Disconnect:
• B attery cables at battery.
• Upper radiator hose and heater hose at manifold.
• W ater pump b y-p ass at w ater pump.
• A c c e le r a to r linkage at pedal le v e r .
• Fuel line and choke cable at carbu retor.
• Crankcase ventilation lin es (as requ ired ).
• Spark advance hose and govern or lin e (if so
equipped) at distribu tor.
3. Rem ove distribu tor cap and m ark ro to r position with
chalk, then rem o ve distribu tor.
4. R em ove (as req u ired ) o il f ille r bracket, a ir cleaner
bracket, a ir co m p re s s o r and bracket, c o il, a c c e le r a ­
tor
return spring and bracket, and a c c e le ra to r
bellcrank.
5. Rem ove m anifold attaching bolts, then rem ove m ani­
fold and carb u retor as an assem bly. D iscard gaskets
and seals.
6. If m anifold is to be replaced, tran sfer:
• C arbu retor and ca rb u retor mounting studs.
• T em peratu re sending unit.
• W ater outlet and therm ostat (use new gasket).
• H eater hose and w ater pump b y-p a ss adapters.
Installation
1. Clean gasket and seal su rfaces on m anifold, block,
and cylin d er heads.
2. Install m anifold seals on block and gaskets on c y l­
inder heads (fig . IV ). Use se a le r at w ater passages
and w here sea ls butt to gaskets.
3. Install m anifold and torque bolts to sp ecification s in
the sequence outlined on the torque sequence chart.
4. Install (if rem oved ) o il fille r bracket, a ir clean er
bracket, a ir c o m p resso r and bracket, co il, a c c e le r a ­
to r
return spring and bracket and a c c e le ra to r
bellcrank.
5. Install distribu tor, positioning ro to r at chalk mark,
then install d istribu tor cap.
6. Connect:
• Spark advance hose and go vern o r line (if so
equipped) at distribu tor.
• Crankcase ventilation lines (as req u ired ).
• Fuel line and choke cable at carb u retor.
• A c c e le r a to r linkage at pedal le v e r .
• W ater pump b y-p a ss at w ater pump (use new
gasket).
• B attery cables at battery.
7. Adjust choke cable and a c c e le ra to r linkage as
outlined.
8. Install a ir clean er.
9. F ill with coolant, start engine, adjust ignition tim ing
and carbu retor idle speed and m ixture and check fo r
leaks.
