2„ P osition shift fin g er (23) on shift ra il (2) with o ff-
center hole to front. Push shift ra il the rem aining
distance into co ver.
3. Install ro ll pin (24) retaining shift fin g er (23) on shift
ra il (2).
4. W ith locknut (6) installed on shift yoke guide (7),
install guide in c o v e r (5). Tighten locknut firm ly .
5. Install snap rin g (19) in gro o ve of shift r a il (2). In­
stall new “ O” rin g seal (20) on shift r a il against the
snap ring.
6„ Install new shift ra il boot (8) with new retaining ring
(21) on shift ra il (2).
7. P osition shift ra il yoke (9) and ra il s e le c to r (12)
(with o ffs e t toward front) on yoke guide (7) and shift
r a il (2).
8. Install retaining pin (14) into holes in r a il s e le c to r
(12) and shift ra il (2).
9. Install ball joint assem bly (13) on r a il s e le c to r (12)
retaining with nut (10) and lock washer (11).
