NEUTRAL SAFETY SWITCH REPLACEMENT
Column Shift—Switch Located on M ast Jacket
1. Disconnect w irin g harness connectors at switch t e r ­
m inals.
2. R em ove switch retaining screw s and switch fro m
m ast jacket.
3. T o in stall, position shift le v e r in d riv e and locate
le v e r tang against tran sm ission s e le c to r plate.
4. A lign slo t in contact support with hole in switch and
in sert pin (3/32" dia.) to hold support in place.
Switch is now in d riv e position.
5. P la c e contact support d riv e slot o v e r s h ifter tube
d riv e tang and tighten screw s. R em ove clamp and
pin.
6. Connect w irin g harness to term in a ls and check op-
operation of switch.
Column Shift—Switch Located on Transmission
(Fig. 8)
1. R aise and support veh icle.
2. D isconnect switch w irin g fro m engine w irin g harness
and rem ove bolt attaching the switch w irin g retaining
clip to the transm ission.
3. Rem ove the bolt attaching the switch to the tran s­
m ission and disengage sw itch fro m shift le v e r rod.
4. P osition new switch to tran sm ission and install
switch attaching bolt.
5. Loosen tran sm ission le v e r extension bolt and with
