To delete all patients and data in the patient library, select the Delete All Patients listing from
the menu bar located at the top of the main THYROID UPTAKE screen. Then select the
Delete All listing that appears in the drop down list. A message window will appear asking,
“Are you sure you want to delete ALL the patient data for the Thyroid Uptake tests?
YES
.
NO
.” Choose
NO
to cancel the delete command and return to the previous screen. If you
select
YES,
another message will appear stating, “Deleting all test data CANNOT be undone.
Are you absolutely sure you want to delete all the test data?
YES
.
NO
.” Select
NO
to
cancel the delete and return to the main THYROID UPTAKE screen. Select
YES
to delete
all patients in the library. The system will continue to accumulate patient data until 300
patients have been entered. Upon attempting to add patient number 301, a message will
appear prompting you to print out, archive, and delete all patients. Printing and archiving are
not mandatory, but you must delete the patients. You may either delete all the patients, or
delete individual patients with the
DELETE
command button. A recommended procedure is
to periodically (monthly or quarterly) archive the patient data for reference, and then delete
all data from the thyroid uptake library. Alternatively, if you do not need to archive patient
results, at the end of each month print a hard copy report for each patient and then delete all
non-active patients.
MAKING MEASUREMENTS
Once the test protocol has been defined and patient demographic information entered, you
can begin the counting process. Select a patient from the patient directory drop down list.
Begin the measurement process by choosing the
COUNT
button from the main THYROID
UPTAKE screen, seen in Figure 6-1. The Thyroid Data Acquisition screen will appear as
shown in Figure 6-19. (If the patient is assigned a protocol that uses a standard reference
capsule, and you have not yet administered the capsule, a message will appear prompting
you to administer the capsule.) Note the
Go To MCA
command located at the top of the
Thyroid Data Acquisition screen. This feature provides a direct link to the complete MCA
program without exiting from the thyroid uptake module. Use this feature to check the
isotope identification of a capsule, verify a region of interest, check a patient for previously
administered isotopes, or any other MCA use.
