To cancel the counting procedure select
OK , and the software will return to Figure 8-37.
However, only the EXIT button will then be active. PROCEDURE ABORTED will appear in
blue beneath the spectral display area. At this point, the only option is to select EXIT and
return to the main Blood Volume Library screen. Selecting Cancel from the screen shown in
Figure 8-40 will cause the software to return to the previous counting prompt screen.
The next step in the counting sequence is the measurement of the whole blood standard.
Once the background data has been accepted by choosing
Yes in Figure 8-39, Figure 8-41
will immediately appear.

To proceed with the whole blood standard count, place the whole blood standard sample in
the well counter and select the
OK button. To cancel the procedure, select the Cancel
button, and Figure 8-40 will appear. After the count is completed, Figure 8-39 will appear
and require confirmation of the data.
Once the standard has been counted and data accepted and saved, the next step in the
counting sequence for procedures using Cr51 is the measurement of the plasma standard,
and Figure 8-42 will appear. Note that in the I 125 procedure, there is no plasma standard
measurement. The counting sequence will skip Figure 8-42, and procedure directly to Figure
8-43, measurement of the patient’s whole blood sample.
