OK to proceed with the background measurement. During the counting process,
COUNTING BACKGROUND will flash in red above the spectral display. Once the
measurement has been completed, Figure 8-24 will appear and require data validation.

To accept the data, select
YES , and the data will be stored in the patient’s library file. To
reject the data and return to the previous count screen, select NO . If Cancel is selected from
Figure 8-23, then Figure 8-25 will appear.

To cancel the counting procedure select
OK , and the software will return to Figure 8-22.
However, only the EXIT button will then be active. PROCEDURE ABORTED will appear in
blue beneath the spectral display area. At this point, the only option is to select EXIT and
return to the main DICOPAC Test Library screen. Selecting Cancel from the screen shown
in Figure 8-25 will cause the software to return to the previous counting prompt screen.
The next step in the counting sequence is the measurement of the patient blank. Once the
background data has been accepted by choosing
Yes in Figure 8-24, Figure 8-26 will
immediately appear.
