Enter the calibrated activity, calibration date, and calibration time for the source. The
software will automatically decay correct the source to the current activity. To exit the screen
without saving the source information, select
CANCEL . To save the source information,
select the DONE button.
Once the source information has been determined, begin the efficiency measurement
process by selecting the
COUNT BACKGROUND button. Insure that no sources are near
the detector. The pop up screen shown in Figure 4-14 will appear and request counting time.

Enter the appropriate counting time. The system default is 120 seconds. To exit without
measuring select
CANCEL . Confirm the time by selecting OK . Then the system will
automatically begin the background count. To stop the count and save the counting data
before the preset live time has elapsed, choose the
STOP & SAVE button.
