To proceed with the Co58 standard count, place the Co58 standard sample in the well
counter and select the
OK button. To cancel the procedure, select the Cancel button, and
Figure 8-25 will appear. Once the count is completed, Figure 8-24 will appear and require
confirmation of the data.
Note that during the count acquisition of the Co58 standard, two Regions of Interest (ROI’s)
are highlighted in red. The left ROI is the Co57 region, the area to the right is the Co58 ROI.
The software is counting the spillover counts from the Co58 standard which appear in the
Co57 ROI. This spillover ratio is automatically calculated by the software, and the Co57
activity found in the patient’s urine sample will be properly corrected.
Once the standards have been counted and data accepted and saved, the next step in the
counting sequence is the measurement of the patient’s urine. Figure 8-29 will appear.

To proceed with the patient’s urine count, place the urine sample in the well counter and
select the
OK button. To cancel the procedure, select the Cancel button, and Figure 8-25
will appear. After the count is completed, Figure 8-24 will appear and require confirmation of
the data.
Once the urine count has been completed and the data accepted and saved, Figure 8-22
will appear again. PROCEDURE COMPLETE will appear in blue at the bottom of the
spectral display area, and only the
EXIT button will be active. Choose the EXIT button to
return to the DICOPAC Test Main screen.
