MANIPULATION OF ACQUIRED SPECTRUM 

Moving the Displayed Spectrum A and B 

The CAPTUS

®

 2000 can display two spectra simultaneously, overlap or subtract one 

spectrum from another, and apply various shape smoothing filters to the displayed spectrum.  
The larger display area in the upper portion of the MCA screen shows current count data.  
Two spectra can be displayed at the same time, and labeled A and B.  Spectrum A will 
appear in white, with ROI’s highlighted in red.  Spectrum B will appear as bright green.  
Acquisition and filter application can only occur in Spectrum A.  In addition, stored files which 
are recalled from disk can only be loaded into Spectrum A.  Data can be copied from A to B.  
New data can then be acquired as Spectrum A.  Data can also be copied from B to A.  Two 
ID comment lines are provided at the top of the screen to label either A and B.

Note that the Display Mode box, Figure 10-16, lists Spectrum A, Spectrum B, and A and B 
options.  This refers only to the spectrum which is in the large display area in the upper 
portion of the screen.  Selecting Spectrum A option from Figure 10-16 will result in only 
Spectrum A in the large display area. 
 
Selecting Spectrum B option will result in only Spectrum B in the larger display area.  
Selecting A and B option from Figure 10-16 will result in both Spectrum A and Spectrum B 
displayed.
