SCPI comma nds should a dhere to their synta x a nd forma t structure (comma nd line) in order to be properly process by the
electronic loa d.
Query comma nds request mea sured va lues, sta tus, or progra mmed settings from the electronic loa d.
System commands belong to the GPIB bus system commands list to controls GPIB bus condition a nd electronic load
interfa ce system. Some comma nds a re not compa tible with RS-232 interfa ce.
SCPI (GPIB & RS-232) COMMAND SET
The following describes the GPIB (IEEE488.2) command set for the Progra mmable Electronic Loa d Series. All the
electronic loa d comma nds follow SCPI forma t a nd a re RS232 complia nt. The
commands in brackets are implicit

don’t have to be written out. The letters in bold is the short form syntax of the command mnemonic. For example, the
comma nd

CURRent:LEVel:IMMedia te 5
CURRent:IMMedia te 5
CURR:IMM 5
CURR 5
All of the a bove commands will set the Current va lue to 5Amps.
*NOTE:
The pa ra meters

Queries for each of t he following commands can be obtained by placing a question mark after the command syntax.

Current Programming Functions
This subsystem programs the constant current mode functions of the Electronic Load. The IEEE 488.1 command, “ISET”
and “SET” (if current active mode is CC mode), can also be used.
CURR
This comma nd sets the input current level that is to be a pplied im media tely in the constant current mode. If the
Electronic Loa d is not in the CC mode when the command is sent, the pro gra mmed level is sa ved and is a pplied when the
Loa d cha nges to CC mode. The ra te of input cha nge is in a ccord with the slew ra te in effe ct.
Pa ra meter:
0 to ma ximum va lue; MIN; MAX
Units: Amp.
Exa mple:
“CURR 50” – sets current input level to 50Amps
CURR:PROT
:
OVER
This comma nd sets a protection limit to the input current that the Electronic Loa d will sink. When the input current
rea ches the progra mmed current lim it for the pro gra mmed dela y period, the Electronic Loa d input is off a nd dra ws no
current.
Pa ra meter:
0 to ma ximum va lue; MIN; MAX
Units: Amp.
Exa mple:
“CURR:PROT:OVER 12”- sets the over-current protection to 12 Amps.
CURR:PROT
:
OVER:DEL
This comma nd sets the delay time in millisecond for current protection. When the input current rea ches the programmed
current limit for the progra mmed dela y period, the Electronic Loa d input is off a nd dra ws no current.
Pa ra meter:
0 to ma ximum va lue;
Units: ms.
Exa mple:
“CURR:PROT:OVER:DEL 200”- sets the over-current protection delay time to 200 ms.
CURR:PROT:UND
This command sets an undercurrent protection limit to the input current tha t the Electronic Loa d will sink. W hen the
input current fa lls below the undercurrent protection limit for the progra mmed dela y period, the loa d input is off a nd
dra ws no current.
