one level to a nother is less tha n 5% of full ra ting, the sma ll signa l ba ndwidth of the loa d limits the minimum tra nsition
time for a ll progra mma ble slew ra tes. Beca use of this limita tion, the a ctua l tra nsition time is longer tha n the expected time
ba sed on the slew ra te.
Continuous Transient Operation
Genera te a repetitive pulse tra in switches between two loa d levels via CONT (hot key) key or SCPI comma nd. The two
loa d levels in the tra nsient opera tion a re ma in level a nd tra nsient level for ea ch mode. The ra te a t which the level switches
between is determined by the slew time setting.
Pulsed Transient Operation
Genera te a loa d cha nge tha t returns to its origina l sta te a fter some time period via SINGLE (hot key) key or SCPI
comma nds.
Toggled Transient Operation
Toggled tra nsient opera tion ca uses the electronic loa d input to a lterna te between two pre -defined loa d levels a s in
Continuous Mode except tha t the tra nsient points ca n be controlled by explicit triggers instea d of a n interna l tra nsien t
genera tor.
STEP Operation:
Step mode lets you genera te complex sequences of input cha nges with ra pid, precise timing, which ma y be synchronized
with interna l or externa l signa ls.
You ca n progra m up to 256 settings (or steps) in the profile, the time interva l (dwell) tha t ea ch setting is ma inta ined, the
number of times tha t the list will be executed, a nd the setting’s cha nge in response to the triggers. The step da ta ca n be
stored in Profile 0, 1, 2 or 3 via either the front pa nel or the digita l interfa ces. Use RCL comma nd to reca ll the sa ved sta te.
Trigger Operation:
The electronic loa d ha s va rious triggering modes to a llow synchroniza tion with other test equipment or events.
Triggering a preset level
Tra nsfers a ll pending preset levels to the a ctua l level. For the presently a ctive mode, the new level a ppea rs a t the input.
For the modes which a re not presently a ctive, the present levels will not ta ke effect a t the input until the a pplica ble mode
becomes a ctive. However, you must first initia te the trigger function by executing the TRIG:IMMED comma nd.
Triggering a transient pulse
A trigger signa l will genera te a tra nsient pulse of progra mma ble width when pulsed tra nsient opera tion is in effect.
Triggers ca n be sent from the front pa nel by pressing the TRIGGER key or via Remote Interfa ce.
Toggling
A trigger signa l will cha nge the input between the ma in level a nd the tra nsient level when toggled tra nsient opera tion is in
effect. Triggers ca n be sent from the front pa nel by pressing the TRIGGER key or via Remote Interfa ce.
