User-Defined Over Current, Voltage, and Power Protection:
Over Voltage (OVP):
OVP is a programmable voltage trip point. Limits can be programmed to “shut down” the electronic load input if the
volta ge exceeds pre-progra mmed va lue (defa ult to off). The defa ult progra mma ble over volta ge (OVP) trip point is 105%
of full volta ge ra ting
Over Current (OCP):
Over Current Protection (OCP) is a programmable current trip point. Limits can be programmed to “shut down” the
electronic loa d input if the current exceeds pre-progra mmed va lue for longer tha n the pre-set time interva l (defa ult to off).
The defa ult progra mma ble over current (OCP) trip point is 105% of full current ra ting.
Overpower (OPP):
The overpower protection (OPP) is a progra mma ble power trip point. If the input power exceeds the overpower limit, the
electronic loa d input will shut down a nd displa y a n OPP a la rm messa ge. The defa ult progra mma ble overpower trip point
is 110% of full power ra ting for PLW Models a nd 105% of full power ra ting for PLA Models .
User-Defined Under Current, Voltage, and Power Protection
For flexible customer a pplica tion, AMETEK’s electronic loa d provides a user-defined under current (UCP), under volta ge
(UVP) a nd under power protection (UPP). If there a re a ny a pplica tions tha t require a minimum volta ge, current or power
level for norma l opera tion, the system will shut down when the level drops below the set va lue.
Custom Max/Min Value Setting
The ma ximum a nd minimum va lue for ea ch mode a nd ra nge is progra mma ble.
Note: The max and min value settings must be within the limits of each individual range and mode
Low Voltage (LV) Protection
When the input volta ge drops below 1.5% of the ma ximum volta ge, a “LV” messa ge will a ppea r to indica te the electronic
load is operating under a low voltage condition. During “LV” mode, the load will automatically switch to a slower slew
time to soften high in-rush currents by limiting the speed of the current rise. The “LV” messa ge notifies the user of a
cha nge in the slew time, so they ca n modify their settings to ensure proper test opera tion.
Self-Diagnostic Capability
Ba sed on the system error messa ge displa yed on the front pa nel, certa in troubleshooting a na lysis ca n be concluded a nd
may be fixed accordingly. The error messages or alarms displayed due to “over limit” faults or erroneous operation will
trigger a n interna l rela y tha t shuts off the system input. For more serious fa ilures, such a s “VPP”, “VNP” or “INF,” the
system ha s perma nently shut down a nd will need to be shipped ba ck to AMETEK for repa ir a s there a re other fa ults.
