REMOTE SENSE CONFIGURATION
Turn off the electronic load before making any connections on the rear panel terminal block.
In remote sense opera tion, the electronic loa d senses the input a t output termina ls of the source. As shown in figure 2 .4,
the remote sense termina ls of the Load a re connected to the output of the source. Remote sensing compensates for the
volta ge drop in a pplica tions tha t require long lea ds. It is useful in a ny opera ting mode requirin g a ccura te volta ge rea d
ba ck. Loa d lea ds should be bundled or tied together to minimize inducta nce.
Note: Use the largest gauge size, lowest inductance and shortest possible length for the sources line.

PARALLEL CONNECTIONS
The electronic loa ds can be connected in pa ra lle l to increa se power dissipa tion a nd a llow current sha ring. Numerous
Electronic Loa ds can be directly pa ra lleled in CC or CRM or CP mode, with the proper setup a nd configura tion. Pa ra llel
operation in a ll opera ting modes is recommended when using the externa l control port to send in a n in-sync externa l
control signa l. By utilizin g a n externa l control signa l a nd ensuring a ll eLOAD a re identica l in model, opera ting ra nge a nd
mode; synchronized pa ra llel eLOAD opera tion ca n be a chieved, providing optim ized performance a nd results. As a rule
of thumb, pa ra llel Loa d Bank opera tion is for current sha ring a mongst a number of loads, to ea se the overpower
restrict ions of a sin gle loa d. In short, pa ra llel opera tion increa ses the power ha ndling ca pability for high current a nd high
volta ge applica tions. Ea ch Electronic Loa d will d issipa te the power it ha s been progra mmed for. If two Electronic Loa ds
a re connected in pa ra llel, with Loa d 1 programmed for 10 A a nd Loa d 2 programmed for 15 A, the tota l current dr a wn
from the source is 25 A. In a nother scena rio, if Loa d 1 is pro gra mmed for 0.5 ohm a nd Loa d 2 is progra mmed for 0.5
ohm, the tota l equiva lent resista nce of the two pa ra lle led Loads is 0.25 ohm. eLOAD (with firmwa re version 2.86 or
la ter) offers a n a dva nce control of pa ra llel opera tion; plea se refer to Appendix B section 11 for “Ma ster-Sla ve Pa ra llel
Operation” step-by-step procedures and important details.
